Colombian Computer Society ratifies Unicauca teacher as president of this academic organization
César Alberto Collazos, professor at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications and coordinator of the Research and Development group in Software Engineering IDIS invited to participate actively in each of the chapters of the Colombian Computer Society.
In a meeting of the Members' Assembly of the Colombian Computer Society, the continuity of the current Board of Directors headed by the professor of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications of the University of Cauca, César Alberto Collazos, was ratified for another year.
During the new period, it is expected to be able to work and consolidate five main axes: Consolidation of membership and national presence; Promotion and institutional visibility; Chapter-based collaboration; internal strengthening; and Regional promotion and visibility.
In the part referring to the chapters, Professor Collazos, who currently works as coordinator of the IDIS group (Research and Development in Software Engineering) of the Systems Department, invited the scientific community to participate in each one of them, joining any of the existing chapters or proposing the creation of a new chapter.
Currently, the Colombian Computer Society has the following chapters:

- Human Computer Interaction: Andrés Solano – “Universidad Autónoma de Occidente”
- Image Processing and Computer Vision: Leonardo Flórez – “Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá”

- Symposium of Masters and Doctorates: Iván Mauricio Cabezas – “Universidad San Buenaventura de Cali”
- Software Engineering: Faber D. Giraldo – “Universidad del Quindío”
- Education and ICT: María Clara Gómez - University of Medellín
- Large Scale Computing: Jairo Enrique Serrano - Technological University of Bolívar
- Architecture and Business Information Systems: Darío José Delgado - UNAD
- Data, Information and Knowledge: Marta Tabares - EAFIT University
- Theory and Application of Formal Methods in Computer Systems: Robinson Andrey Duque, Juan Francisco Díaz, Jesús Alexander Aranda Bueno – “Universidad del Valle”.
The Colombian Society of Computing (SCo2) is a group of academics, researchers and professionals from all over Colombia, whose objective is to promote and help articulate the development of research and innovation in the field of computer science and informatics. Likewise, society aims to be a meeting space and promote the development of scientific events that are beneficial for the entire academic-scientific ecosystem.
The Board of Directors was formed as follows:
