Chamber Choral Group of the University of Cauca celebrates 43 years of artistic life
The group made up of students and graduates of different programs under the direction of teacher Jorge Coral has participated in different national and international events.
With the musical work Elegía al Heroísmo by composer Jorge Aníbal Coral Guerrón, the Chamber Choral Group of the University of Cauca celebrates 47 years of musical work with the participation of students and graduates from different programs of the Alma Mater Cauca.
The Cauca University Chamber Choral Group is directed by Jorge Coral, professor at the Music Department and director of the “Soncolombia” Research Group. This musical group has a great artistic journey participating in different events, competitions and meetings of choirs, regional, national and international, proudly carrying through Colombian music, the name of the University of Cauca and Colombia.
The investigative-creative musical work "Elegy to Heroism" in honor of August 7, has a descriptive cut of historical and contextual references in times and spaces, it was composed to enhance the courage of our people who fought for a great cause in the Battle of the Boyacá Bridge, which has a great meaning in, and for all Colombians who, wrapped in national colors, with their voices, memories turned into whirlwinds and bambucos, allow us to shout Long live Colombia and the greatness of our people! Full of hope and gestures of peace.
