Unicauca’s graduate obtains an Erasmus Mundus scholarship with one of the highest scores in the program

The engineer Sebastián Andrés Cajas Ordóñez obtained a score of 6.67 out of 7 worldwide with a first position among 10 Latin American countries, within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Medical Imaging and Applications (MAIA) program.

 

Sebastián Andrés Cajas Ordóñez, graduated from the Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering program and a member of the Telematics Engineering Group, is accepted into one of the 20 quotas of the joint Master's scholarships of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Medical Imaging and Applications (MAIA) program. The Engineer obtained a score of 6.67 out of 7 worldwide with a first position among 10 Latin American countries (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela).

 

“The scholarship covers tuition costs, travel insurance, air tickets and a monthly grant for the duration of the joint master's degree in medical imaging and applications that will take place the first semester at the University of Bourgogne in France; the second semester at the Università degli studi di cassino e del Lazio Meridionale in Italy, the third semester at the University of Girona in Spain, and the last semester of thesis or internship at a company in a country of the European Union ", explained the engineer Sebastián Andrés Cajas Ordóñez

 

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Medical Imaging and Applications (MAIA) program focuses on developing computer-aided systems (CAD) and medical image analysis applications, which implement artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, pattern recognition, vision of computer, image processing, sensors and data acquisition, all of them in continuous evolution in the current digital revolution.

 

The purpose of the program is to generate professionals who create computerized medical applications and diagnostic tools that allow for a more efficient diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
