Ministry of National Education renews High Quality Accreditation to the Systems Engineering program
After the academic peers verified the quality, organization, operation, and fulfillment of their social function, the Ministry of National Education published the renewal of the High Quality Accreditation for the Systems Engineering program of the University of Cauca.
Through Resolution 3248 of March 5, 2020, the Ministry of National Education renewed the High Quality Accreditation and the qualified registration, to the Systems Engineering program of the University of Cauca, under the face-to-face methodology in Popayán.
After the academic peers verified the quality, organization, operation, and fulfillment of their social function, the Ministry of National Education published the renewal of the High Quality Accreditation for the Systems Engineering program of the Universidad del Cauca.
It is noteworthy that on April 19, 2013, said Ministry had already renewed the qualified registration for a term of seven years, as well as the High Quality Accreditation for six years for an academic program because in that period it also met the requirements that Higher Education demands in terms of research, social projection and for exercising its functions with university commitment.
In addition, on September 3, 2018, the National Accreditation Council approved the self-evaluation of the program and in the session held on October 24 and 25, 2019, the ANC issued a favorable opinion recommending the renewal of Accreditation because the levels of quality were in accordance with the rules governing the matter and publicly recognized this fact through a formal act.
He stressed that the University of Cauca has a clear and explicit institutional mission and vision, aimed at training professionals with social responsibility, which contributes to local, regional and national development consistent with the Institutional Project and its Development Plan.
In the second period of 2018, the program had 24 full-time teachers: 18 hired for an indefinite term and 6 for a fixed-term term; 9 of them have doctorates and another 9 with masters. In the first period of 2014, it had the same number of teachers; however, the improvement in their qualification was highlighted because in that period they had only 4 professors with a doctorate. Currently, the program has 521 students: 22 students per teacher.
According to information emanating from the Ministry of National Education, the curricular structure of the Universidad del Cauca, presents a theoretical foundation oriented to comprehensive training and flexibility with local and regional relevance; according to the master cadres, the institution has 46 national agreements and reports the outgoing mobility of 6 students nationally and 2 internationally.
The incoming mobility is 37 national students in the last 5 years (2014-2018). Additionally, it reports the visit of 30 teachers from Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom; As of December 2019, it reports 20 accredited programs and five more are in the National Accreditation Council.
