César Alberto Sarria Villa, graduated from the Unicauca Physical Engineering program, founder and manager of Hutek, has among his inventions the 'Fiber optic sensor cable for intruder detection', considered one of the 4 best patents among 4 thousand initiatives of research in The Great Inventor 2020, Colciencias / MinScience program.

The patent of the graduates of the Physical Engineering program of the University of Cauca César Alberto Sarria Villa and Juan Fernando Prado was shortlisted by Minciencias among thousands of research products from different Colciencias, Patents, Young researchers, AppsCo, Ondas and Inventor Regions programs . From this pre-selection, a database of 400 products was obtained, considering the innovative nature, commercial potential and trigger of regional development.

The production team started a process at the national level, where they met with the research leaders of each product, in the main cities of the country, César Alberto representing HUTEK by FiberLine, went to Cali, and with a pitch of 10 minutes He had to convince the Jury to be a worthy representative to the Great Inventor Colciencias 2020; a process that he successfully completed and was selected to go to Bogotá to measure himself in his second challenge, in 50 seconds, to gain the trust of renowned businessman Jean Claude Bessudo, proving that FiberLine and César Alberto were worthy representatives of the documentary program “The great Inventor Colombia ”, A production that highlights the invention and mainly seeks to tell the life story of Colombian inventors. Finally César Alberto was selected among the ten inventors, to carry out the production that was recorded in Popayán, Bogotá, Cartagena, Medellín, Cali, Viterbo (Caldas) and Pereira.

FiberLine is a fiber optic sensor that is installed on chain links, trellises or walls and detects the vibration generated by a criminal when trying to cut, climb, break or raise the protection barrier, anticipating events as unfortunate as theft or putting our loved ones at risk. FiberLine is a product developed in the region by its company HUTEK (Humanity, Technology & Knowledge) and it has of special that it is a very precise sensor for detection of vibration in long perimeters, it is immune to storms and uses artificial intelligence to determine the type of event, avoiding false alarms, FiberLine is very useful for subdivisions, residential complexes or properties in remote areas, where security products that solve these problems are usually not within the reach of all budgets

In the same way, he stressed the remote work with his colleague Juan Fernando Prado who is in Chile "it has been a nice process because it shows that you can do a company remotely and the most interesting thing is to be able to connect those Unicaucans talents that are spread throughout the world, with very high technical potential and great commercial relationship ”. Currently, the inventor team hopes to internationalize this patent. This management has been achieved with the support of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. "Colciencias' support has been there, in the drafting of patents and in training programs. Now what we are looking for is to internationalize the patent and everything is done through of calls”, emphasizes the graduate.

The fiber optic sensor is already being marketed nationally in Cali and Bogotá in a physical store and in 14 cities through the distribution channel. "The great inventor Colciencias has served to attract attention to what we have been working on for 8 years, there are many efforts to achieve this technology and the program has allowed us to reach another level", says César Alberto Sarria Villa.

The Great Inventor Colciencias is a Reality Show of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation is an initiative that is carried out in alliance with Jean Claude Bessudo and the Quiroz Brothers; and it is issued on national and international Avianca flights on 140 daily flights traveling to 27 countries. The participants, such as César Sarria and his team, were chosen for having a proposal that could be commercialized, attract investment from the productive sector, obtain professional advice and advance in order to receive sponsorship and thus be able to develop their projects.

Until the second season, the program was broadcast by the Discovery Channel Latin America, however, for the current one the decision of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation is expected. "Colciencias still does not know if the official transmission will be made by this means or by local means, but I am happy to be at Avianca Entertainment for 3 months," concluded the Engineer.
