Unicauca's programs get important results in Saber Pro 2019 Tests

La Universidad -

In 154 points the overall result of the University of Cauca was maintained in the Saber Pro 2019 Tests; Could not raise that score as expected but did not descend. When doing an analysis compared to other institutions, at national level it was observed that there were decreases in the result of the generic competence of written communication. This requires skills for the construction of argumentative texts, said the director of the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation of the Universty of Cauca, Miguel Hugo Corchuelo.

He indicated that in this State exam, Unicauca’s undergraduate students obtained better results in quantitative reasoning, critical reading, citizenship skills and in English. This evidences the incidence of the different actions and preparatory training to the Saber Pro tests, which were carried out in citizen competence, quantitative reasoning and in critical reading, “but unfortunately we do not work the part of written communication, so this area did not yield a good performance. We are going to plan improvement actions in this regard, ”said the manager.

Also, in these tests the Medicine program stood out, which obtained 176 points, which constitutes the highest score it has obtained so far, which is a source of pride for the University. This performance affects it’s accreditation process. Similarly, the Bachelor of Music, which reached 170 points, stood out.

Also important were programs such as Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, with the highest performance in quantitative reasoning, as well as Physical Engineering, which rose ten points in relation to the previous year. Other programs to highlight are: Chemistry, Biology and Anthropology; the latter rose eleven points.

“There are other programs that after the results that reach each faculty, it will be necessary to analyze the circumstances for which the students are performing inferiorly, which is expected to be cause for concern and analysis for the program committees, in order to identify what is happening and why it is being presented, ”said finally the director of the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation of the University of Cauca.
