Management Transparency and Efficiency, virtues of the Vice-President's Office of UNICAUCA
The university administrative vice president’s office is responsible for directing, coordinating and supporting different activities that require managing human, economic, technological and infrastructure resources for development and execution, in order to achieve the institutional social function.
In these processes, civil engineer Cielo Pérez Solano, head of this Unicaucan unit, stated that taking into account all the tasks concerning university community, students, teachers and administrators, "we are working to fulfill in the shortest possible time the needed coverage"; With this strengthening objective it "has already visited several of university dependencies," in order to learn firsthand dynamics and the different requirements of each unit.
Among its axes of work, it’s also aiming to managing strategies that allow the successful completion of physical works, carried out in some units of the Alma Mater, as well as executing the new infrastructure of the institution in the best way.
It should be noted that the professional has extensive experience in consulting, audit and construction of various projects for national and private entities.
The Administrative Vice-President pointed out that one good news for the University of Cauca, was signed by a tripartite agreement amongst the National Planning Department - DNP, the Cauca Government, and the University of Cauca, in order to unite efforts and build the first stage of the university cluster in Santander de Quilichao.
A project of 9.3 billion in value, of which 3,800 is contributed by the University of the Cauca resources; 3,300 million contributed by the Government of the Cauca through fiscal resources from royalties; And 2,200 million contributed by the DNP through a Planned Contract.
"It is a reality, it is already a fact, once this tripartite contract is signed, we will proceed to the pre-contractual stage to choose the most suitable company for the construction of this first stage, which is scheduled to begin in the middle of September this year", Affirmed the Administrative Vice-rector.
The stipulated term for the construction of the first stage of the university cluster in Santander de Quilichao is one year.
Finally, the strategic axis, covering all the aforementioned and which is strengthened from the Administrative Vice-President’s Office, is sustained with transparency while developing different processes that are advanced by this office.
The engineer Perez Solano recalled that in line with this objective, the university direction headed by university president José Luis Diago Franco, signed a few days ago the Transparency Pact with the Presidency of the Republic "through which it is intended to follow the guidelines of the National Government in terms of the structuring of contracting specifications, and contracting modalities that are based on those of the National Roads Institute, which are a benchmark in transparency at the national level."
