The university held a closing diploma ceremony at the Standardization and Transition Zone of Tumaco
On Monday, May 15th, 2017, the University of Cauca and the Organization of Ibero-American States held a ceremony ending the Diploma in Human Rights and Special Peace Jurisdiction in the Transitional and Standardization Zone of Tumaco - La Variante (Nariño).
This academic activity is the first that a Colombian university develops in a ZVTN, which was held between April and May with the participation of 65 FARC members, who received their official diplomas signed by Dr. José Luis Diago Franco , University of Cauca president, and by Dr. Angel Rama, OEI Director.
The program organizers announced that at the end of May and beginning of June, similar work will begin in the temporary transitional areas of Caldono and Buenos Aires, and in the Miranda Transitory Camp in the Cauca department (state).
These peace activities contribute to the personal training of ex-militants and the opening of propitious spaces to better assume the re-incorporation of the insurgents into society.
