With cycling and swimming, the 2014 Interfaculty Games begin in Unicauca
These games are held with the purpose of developing and promoting competitive and recreational university sports as a complement to academic training offered by Alma Máter.
With the participation of students, teachers and administrators, the University of Cauca Interfaculty Games, in swimming, will be held this Thursday 11th and Friday May 12th, in the pools of the University Sports Center, CDU, Tulcán.
For its part, the cycling competition, will take place next Saturday May 13th. The race will start at 7:00AM from the Tulcán University Sports Center in Popayán, towards Coconuco, for a distance of 25 kilometers.
There is an off-road cycle modality for students, teachers and administrators, who are invited to participate.
You can participate in three categories:
- A, until the 39 years old
- B, up to 49 years old
- C, up to 50 years old.
According to Javier Ávila, head of the Division of Sports and Recreation, these games are made with the purpose of developing and promoting the practice of competitive and recreational university sports as a complement to the academic training offered at the university.
The games are also meant to promote health and wellness through physical activity, active participation and healthy competition among players, also raise the level of university sports in which integration and camaraderie among peers prevails.
The championships bring together the university community as a whole are organized by the Culture and Welfare Vice-presidency, through its Sports and Recreation Division.
