Dr. Juan Diego Castrillón Orrego, University of Cauca residing president, has been chosen to be the academia representative by the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN) while he participated in a second session of the colombian National Peace Council held in Bogotá.

This meeting, coordinated by the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace created an agenda aimed at strengthening the colombian peace process through the participation of various representatives from different sectors of society.

"We participated in the subcommittee that defines the criteria and benchmarks the admission of new members in the colombian National Peace Council, taking into account many issues that currently make up the social agenda of the country," said the president.

In that regard, Dr. Castrillon added, proposals about including representatives from sectors that were not presented in the initial formation of the governing body will be studied and expanding the number of representatives will be analyzed by the related sectors.
