Institutions of Higher Education will organize an agenda on issues of peace and post-conflict.
In order to combine academic efforts rectors of the Association of Institutions of Higher Education of Cauca, Asies Cauca, met with members of the Third Division of the Army and Police Department of Cauca.
The rector of the Alma Mater, Dr. Diego Castrillon Juan Orrego, presented a report on its representation in the National Peace Council in which presented the agreements that have been done in Havana under the peace process that is underway in today.
He referred to the issue of post-conflict as an opportunity to offer alternatives for Higher Education communities and indicated the importance of offering a certificate of advanced studies in the subject with the participation of different sectors of society.
The Academic Vice-Rector, Edgar Velasquez said that the project is ahead for the completion of Certificate of advances studies in Geopolitic History and Security aimed to army personnel of the Third Division of the Army headquarters in Popayan, Cali and Pasto.
Also, there is "An initiative to create in the University of Cauca a graduate program in Security and Geopolitics" said the Academic Vice-Rector.
The President Asies Cauca, Dr. Aldemar Holguin, said that it is important to perform the characterization of Cauca in the post-conflict scenario in order to meet the needs of communities, whether it is housing, education, and public services, among others.
Also agreed to make the governing process of awareness about the importance of education and the role of this development, for which an agenda of academic work will be exhibited at the National Peace Council.
Members of the police expressed their satisfaction with this institutional linkage for communities, through academic initiatives that articulate issues of interest to all sectors.
