A professor from Unicauca is the new president of the Colombian Society of Pathology.
The appointment of Jose Angel Ceballos and the Award given to Isabel Cristina Dulcey for Best Research Paper, exalt the work of professors of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
During the 'XL Colombian Congress of Pathology' held in Cartagena de Indias between 14 and 17 August, Dr. Ceballos was appointed unanimously as the new president of the Colombian Society of Pathology for a period of two years t.
"I feel very honored that the members of the Colombian Society of Pathology have thought of me for the tasks that involve the welfare of pathologists in the country," he said.
Some other professors from the Department of Pathology of Unicauca, were also appointed to the board, Esther Mariela Estrada as the Secretariat and Isabel Cristina Dulcey as Treasurer. Isabel Cristina Dulcey also received the award for Best Research among 48 participant proposals nationwide .
The research proposal is called ‘Inmunofenotipo comparativo entre el saco vitelino y los tumores vitelinos (tumores endodérmicos primitivos)', this is part of her graduation work for his PhD in Biomedicine.
"It is a comparative work studing the human survival during the 4 and 12 weeks of pregnancy with tumors arising during this period establishing a diagnosis with a combination of antibodies to primitive endodermic tumors difficult to diagnose," she said.
The Colombian Society of Pathology is the organization in charge of promote the advancement of pathology anatomy in all orders, scientific, moral, ethical and academic ensuring the economic and social welfare of all its members.
