Professors at the University of Cauca, will visit research centers in Indonesia an the Philippines
By invitation from the Colombian Foreign Ministry, Hector Samuel Villada, will perform a Technological Mission from August 15 to August 30.
The professor explained that this is an invitation to delegates from four institutions: the Ministry of Agriculture, Corpoica, Colciencias, and the University of Cauca representing the academic institutions.
"The visit seeks to review technological biodegradable packaging and bio-refinery" said the professor of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
In addition, he will review the researching on friendly packaging from raw materials to the environment emerging trends related to natural and economic substrates, in order to adapt them to underway developments in Colombia.
The Technology Mission has scheduled two meetings with renowned researchers from Indonesia and the Philippines. In the first case, they are working on cassava for packaging from starches. This visit is very important to Mr. Villada because of the specific developments in this area.
This participation is an opportunity to promote international cooperation agreements and strategic alliances to support the work and research of Colombian institutions from their different missions.
"We are looking at the possibility of building processes of technology transfer in the agricultural and livestock area and evaluating the exchange options with research centers that allow academic mobility for students and researchers through the institutions that make up the Technology Mission".
Hector Samuel Villada coordinates the Research Group on Science and technology for the agroindustry, Cytbia, who patented the process of obtaining biodegradable films, with the support of organizations like Colciencias, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Royalty General System and international cooperation.
