Unicauca will participate in the XXIV International Festival of Classical Music
The cultural event will be held from April 13th to 20th in Santander de Quilichao and other municipalities of the department.
"24 years ago, we founded in Santander de Quilichao the Festival and have always had the involvement of the University of Cauca, the Ministry of Culture, the Government, the municipalities and the private sector", said Emith Montilla Echevarría, director and manager of the Festival.
During these years the scenario has had the participation of major groups worldwide such as the Vienna Boys' Choir, bands of Iran, Morocco, Spain, Argentina, Canada, Venezuela, Ecuador and France.
The festival this year will feature the Exaudi Chamber Choir from Cuba, Fonte Gaudí from Spain, a symphonic choral stage performance that counts with the support of Antonio Maria Valencia’ Choir and the Chamber Orchestra Leon J. Simar, an initiative of Maestro Miguel Angel Caballero.
The Alma Mater will be presented with the Experimental Group Opus 1, led by Janeth Lopez Calderon and Germán Antonio Tejeda with a staging of the Lyric Musical Flashmob project.
Exaudi Chamber Choir will have a a special presentation scheduled for Palm Sunday at the Auditorium Francisco José de Caldas to the entire university community.
The event is held annually since 1991 and is one of the most important cultural events in the southwest of Colombia held every Easter as great exponents of classical music from local, national and international level.
