The National Academic Network of Advanced Technology, RENATA, presented services to the Academic Council.
The Executive Director of RENATA, Lucas Giraldo, explained the technology options that they offer.
Mr. Giraldo explained the academic benefits that RENATA offers based on a technological infrastructure, which will be disclosed to the different levels of the Alma Mater through the counseling and assistance that his technical team will provide during the next days.
" The opportunity to share with the Academic Council of the University of Cauca our portfolio was very satisfactory. We expect that after this technical visit the faculty take advantage of the platform and use it as a tool for their work on a regular basis" said the RENATA Manager.
RENATA not only provides streaming and video conferencing services but also virtual office, monitoring, IP voice, Renata Britannica, Eduroam , IPV6 and Renata Funding, which are services that can be accessed from the website www.renata.edu.co
" Practical tools of this type facilitate the dynamic of the institucion and is open to the students, reducing costs and time, as well as being useful for exchanging issues and technological aspects" explained Lucas Giraldo.
He also anounced that Popayan will host the XI RENATA National Meeting in August, which will address topics such as advanced computer science and E -Learning. There will be special sessions to share knowledge and experiences on the use of the technological infrastructure.
Dr. Diego Castrillon Juan Orrego, rector of the University of Cauca, committed to support the development of a chair in afro-descendant studies aimed to the universities of the Colombian Pacific that would start in May as part of the use of the services.
