Thus, projects discussed included the University Health Center in the Alfonso López neighborhood, payment for university properties affected by the expansion of 15N Street and 2nd Avenue, property tax discounts for the institution’s 54 buildings, and the permit required to continue construction at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
During the interinstitutional meeting, additional topics were addressed, such as the regularization of the Pomona property, exemption from the "Pico y Placa" restriction for institutional vehicles, scholarships for young students from Popayán attending the University of Cauca, strategies to mitigate the impact on historical center facades, and municipal government support for events like "Science in the Park" and "Popayán, City of Books".

For his part, the mayor of Popayán, Juan Carlos Muñoz Bravo, acknowledged the University of Cauca’s significance, highlighting its long history and contributions. "It is very important for the Municipal Administration, which is why we need to align ourselves with these processes. We want to support all the university's projects within the municipality." With this commitment in mind, he called for a follow-up meeting to assess progress and achievements related to the initiatives discussed.
Additionally, Rector Deibar René Hurtado Herrera reiterated the importance of collective support for these initiatives. "I believe that as long as we feel that this city and the university belong to us, we can create a more welcoming environment and establish Popayán as a true university city—one that aligns with the needs of the young population arriving from all regions of the country. At the same time, these students must feel a sense of belonging and responsibility toward the city. This will lead to a more harmonious coexistence and allow us to build a more vibrant and engaging city project."
