Unicauca Undergraduate Student Selected as Evaluator for the IV Research Group's Meeting in Physiotherapy

La Universidad -

Thanks to her commitment and effort, Karol Yiseth Jurado Narváez, a tenth-semester student in the Physiotherapy program at the University of Cauca, represented our alma mater at this national event, held in the municipality of Palmira, Valle del Cauca, Colombia.

The Colombian Association of Physiotherapy Students (ACEFIT) extended a special invitation to Karol Yiseth Jurado Narváez, a tenth-semester student in the Physiotherapy program at the University of Cauca, to participate as a project evaluator during the IV Regional Research Group's Meeting in Physiotherapy, held on November 1 in Palmira, Valle del Cauca.

This invitation was a recognition of the student’s outstanding participation in previous editions of the event, where she secured second place in the second edition and first place in the third edition in the "Completed Project" category, as well as her research trajectory and her active role as a research leader for Physiotherapy students through the research seedbed and the ACEFIT Científico Unicauca component.

“In this fourth edition of the meeting, Karol Yiseth Jurado Narváez evaluated the projects “Cardiovascular Health, Adverse Effects, and Physical Activity in Autistic Youth in the City of Pasto, 2025” and “Body Awareness as a Strategy to Promote School Coexistence in Eleventh Grade Students from Educational Institutions in Pasto”, both presented in Room 1. She shared this responsibility with a group of distinguished professionals with advanced postgraduate training, where she was, in fact, the only undergraduate student.

"This achievement is even more significant as it is the first time in the history of this event that an invitation has been extended to an undergraduate student to serve as an evaluator, considering that in such national events these roles are typically reserved for faculty members and specialists with postgraduate training in research," said Karol Yiseth Jurado Narváez.

She added that this recognition not only highlights the commitment and academic excellence of undergraduate students but also serves as motivation for more students to actively engage in research processes from the early stages of their studies.

Furthermore, this achievement helps strengthen the image of the University of Cauca in the research field, facilitating the expansion of regional collaboration networks and supporting the high-quality accreditation processes of both the institution and the Physiotherapy program.

At the University of Cauca, we are proud to see how students choose to be part of research processes that enrich their own lives and contribute to the generation of knowledge and understanding in our institution. We also celebrate those who shine through their persistence, passion, and commitment to everything they set out to achieve.
