More than 100 artistic performances resonate in the hearts of Cauca, Huila, and Nariño, within the framework of the presidential program Sonidos para la Contrucción e Paz
Thanks to this initiative, led by the University of Cauca in Zone 6, educational institutions have become venues where music and art strengthen the social fabric and contribute to peacebuilding.
During October and November, children, adolescents, and young people participate in the organic showcases, which are spaces for interaction with the educational community where progress, learnings, and experiences born from the pedagogical moments are shared.
Each gathering is an opportunity for communities to celebrate their cultural identity and build a stronger social fabric together, through sound as an expression of peace and coexistence.
What are organic showcases?
They are spaces for expression held within educational institutions, adapted to the characteristics and dynamics of each community.
Organic showcases take the form of open rehearsals, shared pedagogical moments, or spontaneous performances, integrating flexibly into school activities or occurring naturally during breaks or throughout the school day.
As part of the government's largest cultural initiative, the presidential program Sonidos para la Paz strengthens music education as a powerful tool that allows communities to connect with their own histories, traditions, and values.
Throughout each organic showcase, students rediscover their sonic and cultural identity, experiencing a formative process that prioritizes socio-emotional well-being and fosters collaborative work in an environment of respect for diversity.
The University of Cauca, with its leadership in Zone 6, drives this strategy across 87 municipalities and 227 educational institutions, providing a platform for the creativity and resilience of young people to resonate in a country committed to peace and development through the arts.
