Popayán will transform into a vibrant cultural epicenter with 'Popayán City of Books,' an event that will celebrate the literary and artistic richness of the city from October 10 to 16

This unique event invites the local community and visitors to immerse themselves in an unprecedented cultural experience, with free access to all activities. The program includes a variety of events ranging from artistic and literary workshops, lectures, book presentations, to live performances, ensuring a diverse lineup for every attendee.

The event showcases the commitment of public and private entities to culture and education, offering an inclusive and accessible space for intellectual and creative enrichment. "Popayán City of Books" is not only a celebration of literature but also a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas, fostering citizen participation in the arts and culture.

The agenda will feature local guests such as composer and singer-songwriter Jairo Ojeda, the father of children’s songs, poet Elvira Alejandra Quintero, and writers Víctor Paz Otero and Juan Esteban Constaín; national guests like writers Gilmer Mesa, Mauricio Silvia, Manolo Bellón, producer Gonzalo Villalón, one of the most influential figures in the entertainment industry, illustrator Carolina Preciado, and emerging young poet Fadir Delgado; as well as international guests such as Mexican poet Gabriela Jauregui, Brazilian writer Sônia Queiroz, Cuban artist La Palabra, and Luciana Cadahia from Argentina.

This event invites everyone to share and experience new moments, where renowned authors and artists convey their passion and literary knowledge to the public.

From the organizing committee, we extend an open invitation for everyone to join the seventh edition of "Popayán City of Books."

It is important to mention that this is an initiative led by the Vice Presidency of Culture and Wellbeing at the University of Cauca, in partnership with the Institución Universitaria Colegio Mayor del Cauca, the Editorial Seal of the University of Cauca, and the Cultural Agency of the Banco de la República in Popayán. Additionally, it is supported by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Knowledge and sponsored by the transport companies Translibertad S.A.S. and Transpubenza Ltda.

Together with you, we want to continue building our country within Colombia's cultural landscape. We look forward to seeing you from October 10 to 16 at the Centro de Convenciones Casa de la Moneda—share your experiences!
