The University of Cauca, in collaboration with the University of Córdoba, the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia, and the Federal University of Rio Grande, is organizing the III International Congress on Community Environmental Education 'Weaving Environmental Perspectives in Territorial Contexts,' which will be held from June 5 to 7 in Montería.

In this way, Alfonso Rafael Buelvas Garay, Dean of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, along with students and professors from the Geography, Bachelor’s in Natural Sciences and Environmental Education, Biology programs, and the Environmental Sciences Research Group, are participating as organizers, workshop facilitators, and logistical support. This participation strengthens the ties between the universities.

“This third version of the event aims to debate and disseminate experiences conducted by various institutions, entities, and groups based on their social and pedagogical activities within and with the communities in their territories,” said Mercy Lorena Urbano Pardo, a professor in the Department of Geography.

The event will feature representatives from the government, regional organizations, communities, and academics from both international and national universities. “We are preparing for the VIII Ibero-American Congress on Environmental Education 'Cultures and Territories at Peace with Nature,' which will be held from October 16 to 18 in the city of Cali, as part of COP16, and for which the Universidad del Cauca is part of the Organizing Committee,” concluded Professor Mercy Lorena Urbano Pardo.
