Unicauca on the path to renew ISO 9001-2015 Certification, do you know what it's about? Here's more information:

La Universidad -

From May 20th to 24th of this year, the University of Cauca received a virtual visit from the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards and Certification (ICONTEC) with the aim of evaluating and renewing the ISO 9001-2015 certification, an international standard that ensures excellence in quality management systems of institutions.

The ISO 9001-2015 certification, initially obtained by the University of Cauca in 2019, reflects our ongoing commitment to improving administrative and academic processes, ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards. During these visits, ICONTEC auditors review our internal processes, ranging from administrative management to the delivery of educational services, to verify compliance with the standard requirements.

In this regard, Dr. Alexander Buendía, Director of the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation, expressed enthusiasm and confidence in the recently concluded process. "We finished with some improvement opportunities, which is normal within the logic of continuous improvement. There are always things we can do better. Beyond that, the University of Cauca demonstrates that, despite being a large, diverse, and complex organization, it has a solid quality assurance and quality management system that matures over time. Thanks to this, the different university bodies have committed to continuous improvement and advancing our processes to provide better educational services, which is our primary goal and mission."

It's important to note that ISO 9001-2015 certification is a cornerstone of our current Institutional Development Plan; a plan that promotes excellence in all areas of our university. Therefore, receiving renewal from ICONTEC would be an incentive to continue all processes of continuous improvement, especially as we advance towards Institutional Reaccreditation by the National Accreditation Council (CNA) in 2027, a long-term endeavor that requires the commitment of every member of our community. Thus, we take this opportunity to once again invite all members of Unicauca to continue on this important journey towards our High-Quality Reaccreditation, as we are committed to providing all our students with higher education of the highest standards that transforms lives and makes dreams a reality. Together, we are making history in this space that is #PatrimonyOfAll.
