Unicaucanos Present New Edition of the Book “Notas a mano sobre programación orientada a objetos y patrones de diseño”
PhD student in Computer Science, Carlos Eduardo Orozco, and professor affiliated with the Department of Systems, César Jesús Pardo Calvache, have released an updated version of the book aimed at enhancing skills in object-oriented design and the implementation of design patterns in real software projects.
Originally published on June 26, 2023, the work has been highly valued for its ability to make complex technical concepts understandable and for its immersive narrative structure. The new edition has been updated to include the latest advances and best practices in the field of software design, ensuring its relevance and usefulness for those interested in learning about software design.
“This new edition reflects our commitment to education and professional development in the field of software engineering. By making the book available on Amazon, we hope to reach a wider audience and significantly contribute to the training of future generations of developers,” stated the authors.
The book is especially recommended for students and professionals looking to strengthen their skills in object-oriented design and the implementation of design patterns in real software projects. This updated edition aims to be an essential reference for everyone involved in software design and analysis.

In this new edition of the book, readers will find a distinctive cover featuring a macaw, as a vibrant tribute to Colombia's rich biodiversity. “Since I started with the idea of writing, I always envisioned using a concept similar to the iconic O’Reilly publishing house, known for featuring animals on its covers. However, my approach aims to highlight the unique fauna of our region. For this book, we chose the macaw because it symbolizes not only Colombia's natural beauty but also the creativity and diversity we seek to promote in the field of programming and software design. We hope to feature other animals like the hummingbird, capybara, and Andean condor in future books, creating a distinct brand with a Colombian touch,” said Carlos Orozco about the inspiration behind the cover design.
Since its launch, the work has been valued and highlighted by professionals in the information technology sector worldwide, who have emphasized its relevance and applicability in current education and professional practice. Positive feedback from the professional community on platforms like LinkedIn and ResearchGate reinforces the value of this resource as an essential tool for learning and implementing programming principles and software design.
The new edition of the book is available on Amazon in three formats: Kindle, paperback, and hardcover. Anyone interested in purchasing a copy can visit the link.
