CIDESCO, the leading organization in promoting educational excellence, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024. For this reason, and as part of this important celebration, the "University Teachers of the Year 2024 Awards" will take place on June 6th at the Comfandi Cultural Center in the city of Cali. This event promises to be a great experience. Therefore, from Unicauca, we invite all our faculty members to participate by applying in the different categories.

CIDESCO celebrates half a century of foundation. This year's awards reflect the tradition and commitment to higher education. "These awards have become a window to showcase all the good that our teachers do, and represent a moment of rejoicing and joy where we can bring together all university communities around what is most important to us: the professors," says Camilo Lezcano Yepes, Executive Director of this organization. This will be the third consecutive edition of the awards and coincides with CIDESCO's golden anniversary. "The idea is to exalt the teaching profession and reward those professors who do things differently, who innovate and feel special," Lezcano Yepes emphasized.

In this sense, the importance of these awards for the academic community is indisputable because "We need more spaces like these where we truly recognize and showcase the good we do in our region," added the Executive Director, highlighting that these awards not only celebrate achievements but also help map innovative practices within institutions, which is crucial for high-quality accreditations.

Thus, on this occasion, CIDESCO invites all members of the Unicauca academic community to join the celebration and participate in the awards ceremony. This event not only honors outstanding educators but also inspires the entire community to continue striving for excellence and innovation in higher education.

How to Participate?

1.            1. Registration: Visit the CIDESCO  website and complete the registration form.
2.            2. Document Your Excellence: Submit justifications and short videos highlighting your teaching work.
3.            3. Group Nominations: If you are working on a significant pedagogical project with other teachers, apply as a group!

Requirements:

Be a university professor at an institution associated with CIDESCO.

Have at least 3 years of teaching experience in the last 5 years.

Awards:

Recognition: Each winner will receive a prize of 1 million pesos.

Celebration: The winners will be announced at a special ceremony on June 6, 2024, at the auditorium of the Comfandi Cultural Center in Cali.

Evaluation:

Innovation: Show how your teaching is unique.

Impact: Demonstrate the positive effect on your students.

Applicability: Explain how your methods can be adapted to other educational contexts.
