A Unicauca talent has taken on the presidency of the Colombian Society of Architects Regional Cauca. Here are more details
Professor Carlos Alberto Gómez Fernández, affiliated with the Architecture Program of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at our Alma Mater, was appointed as president of the Colombian Society of Architects (SCA), Regional Cauca, during the assembly held by this guild in the city of Popayán.
In a general assembly held by the guild of architects of the Cauca department, which took place on March 21 at Club Popayán, Professor Carlos Alberto Gómez Fernández from the Architecture program was appointed President of the Colombian Society of Architects Regional Cauca. Along with Susana Cajiao, who assumed the role of Vice President, and under the motto 'Adding Wills,' they have committed to positioning architects in the department through various actions during the 2024-2026 period.
The appointment as president of the Colombian Society of Architects, Cauca, signifies a great responsibility that continues the guild's efforts to position architecture and leaves the task of achieving new accomplishments for society," stated Professor Carlos Alberto, who is a graduate of the National University of Manizales, a specialist in Landscaping from the University of Valle, holds a master's degree in Regional Development and Territorial Planning from the Autonomous University of Manizales, and has been part of our Alma Mater since 2017, when our Architecture program was launched.

Our protagonist also highlighted that 'The Colombian Society of Architects has a framework agreement with the University of Cauca that will facilitate mutual collaboration to promote and organize academic events with a favorable impact on our region; and within this summation of wills, students are provided with an important outlook that projects them towards their future professional lives,' an alliance that fills us with great pride, as it is thanks to the initiatives of our Unicauca members that we can strengthen ourselves day by day as a university of academic excellence.

Finally, Professor Carlos stated that 'As a teacher, I have confidence that architecture is not only a profession but also a passion that can be used to strengthen culture and identity.'
