The decision, made unanimously on March 20 in Bogotá, strengthens the alliance between industry, research, and academic development through the Research and Development Center for Information and Communication Technologies – CINTEL. This entity promotes projects related to digital transformation.

Representing the universities of the country and by unanimous decision, the Alma Mater Caucana was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Research and Development Center for Information and Communication Technologies - CINTEL, for the year 2024. The meeting, which took place on March 20 in the Colombian capital, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, Engineer Alejandro Toledo

The universities attending the assembly supported this appointment, which allows for strengthening the ties between industry, research, and regional, national, and international academic development.

It is important to note that the Research and Development Center for Information and Communication Technologies - CINTEL conducts projects aimed at supporting the digital transformation of public and private enterprises. Established in 1991, it is considered the entity with the most experience in innovation and technological development projects in the ICT sector in Colombia. CINTEL leads various initiatives focused on energizing the industry and promoting the social appropriation of technology, as well as organizing the International ICT Congress - ANDICOM.

Likewise, it has renewed its recognition as a Center for Innovation and Productivity (CIP) for 3 years through Resolution 0983 of September 20, 2022, from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Minciencias), as part of the National System of Science, Technology, and Innovation (SNCTeI) of the country.

From this Excellence and Solidarity University, we celebrate this decision, which promotes the relationship between three strategic sectors (university - business - government), clearly contributing to the formation of professionals who contribute to building a more competitive country that bets on technological development from the regions.
