The first Vocational Pre-University Program in Health Sciences 'Galeno' is now underway.
With 30 students enrolled, the Vocational Pre-University Program in Health Sciences 'Galeno' began with the goal of guiding young people to find their true passion and facilitating their access to the Alma Mater Caucana.
With the aim of giving young people the opportunity to clearly discern what they want to dedicate their lives to while strengthening their abilities to access higher education, the University of Cauca, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Adriana Castro Mañunga, has realized the dream of providing future professionals in the region with a very enriching experience. This will allow them to address all the questions they may have about choosing the health field as their area of study.
Thus, the enrolled students will have the opportunity to acquire 'basic knowledge of cross-cutting subjects for all programs, such as Morphology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and others that help support and retain this information, such as ICTs, literacy, study techniques, among others. The teachers who lead the modules are from the faculty, assisted by senior students from the same programs who excelled in the subjects,' said Professor Javier Muñoz from the Morphology course.

It is important to highlight that, within this pre-university program, students have the opportunity to access tools such as Virtual Reality, which will allow them to better experience the various fields of Health Sciences. From this institution, we celebrate the opening of such enriching spaces that will undoubtedly transform the lives of those who dream of becoming doctors, nurses, speech therapists, or physiotherapists in our region. We look forward to sharing more information about how this first cohort is developing!
