A Unicaucan talent joins the International Scientific Committee of the XXIX Ibero-American Congress of Catalysis - CICAT 2024.
Two Colombian professors, Alfonso Enrique Ramírez Sanabria and Víctor Baldovino, are part of the International Scientific Committee for this event, which will take place in Spain in September. It is a significant platform for sharing experiences among researchers, professionals, and students on topics of relevance to the Ibero-American community.
Professor Alfonso Enrique Ramírez Sanabria from the University of Cauca is one of the two Colombians who are part of the International Scientific Committee for the XXIX Ibero-American Congress of Catalysis (CICAT 2024: Catalysis Innovating for Change), which will take place from September 23 to 27 in Spain.
After the last two editions, which were hosted by Mexico and Brazil in a fully virtual format, the XXIX CICAT returns to an in-person meeting in Bilbao, Spain. This is a cause for celebration as it will allow for greater exchange of experiences, as well as closer interaction and collaboration among researchers, professionals, and students interested in Catalysis.
Alfonso Enrique Ramírez Sanabria is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and a member of the Research Group in Catalysis. He served as president of the Colombian Society of Catalysis (SoCCAT) for the period 2017-2019 and was Colombia’s representative to the Ibero-American Federation of Catalysis Societies (FISOCAT). At the end of 2023, he was the editor of the Journal Qei, published by the Colombian Society of Chemical Sciences (SCCQ), and previously moderated one of the sessions at the Ibero-American Congress of Catalysis.
