The red and blue of Unicauca breaks borders.

La Universidad -

Students from the Environmental Engineering Research Seedbed (SIIA) and the Science and Engineering Group in Environmental Systems (GCISA) will travel to Germany for a period of two weeks. The exciting adventure, starting on October 13th and extending until the 28th of the same month in 2023, will allow them to make academic visits to four universities, all expenses covered.

As a result of their participation in the 'Study Visits by Groups of Foreign Students' call, the Environmental Engineering Research Seedbed (SIIA) at Alma Mater Caucana obtained a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This gratifying achievement is the result of Professor Nazly Sánchez's leadership and the commitment of the students involved in research activities. They will have the opportunity to visit four German universities to exchange knowledge and experiences, explore study opportunities, and related offers. It's worth highlighting that the scholarship beneficiaries belong to the Environmental Engineering Research Seedbed (SIIA) - part of our Environmental Engineering Program - and the Science and Engineering Group in Environmental Systems (GCISA) - from the Master's in Environmental Engineering.

The group consists of Angie Derazo, Caren Collazos, Gustavo Paz, Juan Pablo Román, Laura Caicedo, Francisco Hurtado, Natalia López, Loryn Salamanca, Santiago Vallejo, Gabriela Córdoba, Sebastián Castro, Edinson Caicedo, Diana Camayo, Andrea Salazar, and Edwin Sierra, Unicauca students who will travel to Germany to visit the universities of Bremen, Leibniz in Hannover, Kassel, and Reutlingen. However, these young individuals are not traveling alone; professors Nazly Sánchez and Edna Rocío Cabrera, instructors of the Environmental Engineering program and mentors of the research seedbeds, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Dr. Juan Carlos Casas Zapata, will accompany them on this unforgettable journey.

From their Alma Mater, we recognize and applaud the exceptional potential of our students, who, thanks to their high-level academic knowledge production, open the necessary doors to make their dreams a reality. For this reason, we extend an invitation to the entire Unicauca community to continue taking advantage of the various opportunities presented to them, particularly those related to academic mobility. Through these opportunities, highly enriching experiences can be lived, strengthening our path towards building a University of Excellence and Solidarity.

Best of luck on your journey! We eagerly await reports and to hear about the results of this transformative trip.
