La Universidad -

The research work by professors César Alberto Alberto Collazos from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, together with Laura Aballay and Silvana Aciar from the National University of San Juan (Argentina), received the award for the best presentation and best work during the XIII International Conference on Virtual Campuses in Portugal.

The research article titled "Emotion Detection Methods Appropriate for Evaluating User Experience in Virtual Learning Platforms in Spanish: Expert Perspectives," conducted by professors Laura Aballay and Silvana Aciar from the National University of San Juan (Argentina), and César Alberto Collazos from the University of Cauca, was recognized with the award for the best presentation and best work during the XIII International Conference on Virtual Campuses, held in Porto (Portugal) on September 25th and 26th, 2023.

The document, corresponding to Laura Aballay's doctoral work, jointly supervised by professors Silvana Aciar and César Alberto Collazos, revolves around the measurement of user experience, focusing on the analysis of emotions while working on virtual learning platforms, and defining frameworks to promote learning in such scenarios.

This theme is one of the areas being researched in the Human-Computer Interaction field and is worked on within the IDIS Research and Development in Software Engineering Group at the University of Cauca. Professor Collazos, who coordinates the research group and the HCI-Collab Network, an Ibero-American network to promote Human-Computer Interaction learning in Ibero-American countries, indicated this information.

The XIII International Conference on Virtual Campuses aims to consolidate the international and multidisciplinary community working for the development of virtual teaching in institutions. The areas of work range from educational innovation, quality assurance systems, technological infrastructure and support tool development, design, development, and publication of digital educational content and courses, teacher and student training, management, and technical staff, virtualization and internationalization of teaching, opening to society through collaborations with companies and organizations, among other areas of growing interest for this community.
