The Director of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Colombia visited the University of Cauca.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Languages welcomed the visit from YMCA with great enthusiasm, aiming to continue strengthening the cooperation between both institutions.
For over 20 years, the University of Cauca and the Department of Languages have built a close cooperative relationship with YMCA through international mobility programs, especially for university students. This agreement has facilitated programs such as "Summer Camps," where students engage in cultural exchange and enhance their English language skills in the United States.
The program is managed by the Department of Languages of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The agreement has enabled over 1,200 students to experience these Summer Camps among the 12,000 held in the United States. Annually, a call for students to participate in this exchange activity is opened under the executive coordination of the agreement.
During the visit of Director Alveiro Valencia on August 30th and 31st, an assessment of the agreement was carried out. It was jointly agreed with the Rectorate to explore expanding the scope of the YMCA agreement to include professors, as well as the creation of a space for social and cultural intervention mediated by the Campus YMCA/Unicauca project.
