Unicauca Band Direction students strengthen their academic and artistic training processes

Eight students from the University of Cauca participated in the Second National Conducting Workshop with the accompaniment of the renowned director and composer Rubén Darío Gómez Prada.

 

 

Our students met, learned and practiced musical elements under the guidance of teacher Rubén Darío Gómez, who shared his knowledge with the participants to strengthen the training processes. Professor Carlos René Ordoñez Mora stated about the participation of eight students from the Band Conducting program of the University of Cauca in the Second National Conducting Workshop that took place between May 15 and 19 in Cali.

 

 

The students who were part of this training space are: Julieth Vanesa Burbano Tobar; Daniela Bravo; Nathalia Jordan; Thalia Pinchao, David Ascuntar; Jairo Zambrano; Juan Santacruz and Felipe Portillo. One of them, Julieth Vanesa Burbano, who is preparing her Graduate Concert and is also studying Instrumental Music as a flutist, was selected to conduct a play on the night of the closing concert.

 

 

 

"It was an enriching experience that projects our Institution on national stages," added the Professor of the University of Cauca about the participation of students in this event organized by the Departmental Institute of Fine Arts of Cali and the Departmental Band of Valle, which in this version was guided by the renowned Colombian director and composer Rubén Darío Gómez Prada.
