Do you dream of being a university professor? Pay attention: Unicauca will open a call for 36 new teaching positions

Within the framework of the Improvement Plan for Institutional Reaccreditation, the University of Cauca will open teaching calls to fill 36 staff positions, work that began in the first semester of 2023 and will last until the end of 2023

In addition to the teaching call currently in progress that will allow the linking of four full-time teachers associated with vacant positions in the departments of Chemistry, Geography, Biology and Mathematics, whose process began on March 27, 2023 and will end with the list of professors selected on July 6 of this year, the University of Cauca is allowed to announce that it will open a public call to fill 36 new teaching positions. This work, which will take place in the course of 2023 and will come to an end in 2026, is intended to comply with the Improvement Plan for Institutional Reaccreditation, which is added to what is stipulated in Agreement 085 of 2021 through the which establishes that the merit contests must be developed on a semi-annual basis to guarantee the stability of the teaching staff of the Alma Mater of Cauca.

In this sense, the administration also seeks in a special way to "honor the commitment of the first strategic axis proposed within the Institutional Development Plan 2023-2027, which refers to Our people as the most valuable heritage of the University" expresses the rector, Dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, who presented to the Superior Council of the University a plan associated with a specific schedule, which will allow reaching the goal of supplying the 36 new teaching positions in a period comprised, within the actions promoted, from the current university address.

In this regard, it is important to note that during the last session of the highest university body, held on April 25, the councilors supported the proposal presented by the rector that contemplates advancing the following teaching calls as detailed below: 14 additional places by 2023; 12 places for 2024 and 10 places for 2025. Considering the above, it is important to specify that during the second semester of 2023, two new calls will be opened, on the one hand there will be the call that responds to the Improvement Plan for Institutional Reaccreditation that seeks to supply 14 positions and on the other hand, a new call will be opened that responds to Agreement 85 with which it seeks to supply 10 more positions. Thus, by the end of this year, a total of 28 places will have been filled, which is very positive news.
