Unicauca promotes spaces for debate on the implementation of the gender approach in the Final Peace Agreement
On Wednesday, April 26, in the Fundadores room of the University of Cauca, the seminar "Advances and challenges: panorama of implementation of the gender approach of the Final Agreement" was held thanks to the articulation of the Alma Mater of Cauca, the Kroc Institute and the Observatory for Women's Equality of the ICESI University.
After formal greetings by Erin Corcoran, Director of the Kroc Institute, Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, Rector of the University of Cauca, and Diana Puerto, Policy Officer of the Swedish Embassy, the report "Time is running out" was presented. exhausted for the implementation of the gender approach: progress, challenges and opportunities six years after the signing of the Final Agreement”, by the Kroc Institute.
The report prompted, at first, the opening of the debate by the different representatives of the invited organizations, such as the Peace Commission, of the University of Cauca, UN Women, the Special Instance of Women for the Gender Approach in the Peace and the Common Component of the CSIVI, who made known the experiences that these organizations had, regarding the implementation of the gender approach in their projects, within the framework of a contextual reality: Final Peace Agreement.
Thus, the University of Cauca continues to promote different spaces whose purpose is to contribute to the Construction of Peace, strengthening its commitment to be a regional think tank of Excellence and Solidarity, which seeks to have a political influence on the different realities of the populations. of the department that have been most affected by the conflict in order to give the country a bicentennial institution.
