Academics from Latin America form a network around the Bioeconomy in the Forestry Sector

Professor Paola Torres Andrade, is part of this initiative that was thought from an academic event in Guatemala where the Professor of the University of Cauca presented the conference entitled "Forest biorefineries: learning from the ecology of wood degradation"

"The objective of this academic activity was to receive training for decision-making involving forest bioeconomy, agroforestry biorefineries, and the concepts of economic and environmental sustainability," said the professor of the Forest Engineering program at the University of Cauca. .

In this way, Paola Torres Andrade presents her balance of participation in the course "Circular bioeconomy in the ligno-cellulose industrial sector and its contribution to the mitigation of climate change", in which she was invited to socialize the conference "Forest biorefineries: learning from the ecology of wood degradation", and where a network was formed with Latin American academics around the Bioeconomy in the Forestry Sector and lignocellulosic materials.

The event that took place from April 17 to 21, 2023, in the city of La Antigua, Guatemala, was organized by the AECID and the National Institute of Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA) of Spain. Professor Paola Torres Andrade participated along with professionals related to the subject from Colombia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Mexico, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
