Teamwork and commitment: keys to the success of the University of Cauca.
The Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation leads the efforts of the Universidad del Cauca to be a more competitive and sustainable institution.
The University of Cauca sets great objectives for the coming years, and to achieve them, the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation works hard. Alexander Buendía Astudillo, leads this work team whose main objective for 2023 is to continue with the continuous improvement of the university, in three fundamental aspects.
In the first place, the institutional self-assessment process for the purpose of renewing the High Quality Institutional Accreditation, which allows reflecting compliance with the improvement plan and the constant growth of the University. For this, work is being done on the collection, systematization and monitoring of information.
Secondly, it seeks to accredit 60% of the academic programs that the university has by the year 2026. Currently, the University of Cauca has 28 programs with high-quality accreditation, and accompaniment and information is provided to the programs to that they can write the document that evidences the ten accreditation factors.
Thirdly, it seeks to obtain the ISO 14001 certification, Environmental Management System, to validate and strengthen the environmental practices of the University. Currently, it has ISO 9001, Quality Management System where the mission processes of the institution are validated.
This work team is focused on achieving these objectives collaboratively, and on maintaining a good work environment. These efforts are expected to translate into an institution that is increasingly solid and competitive at the national and international level, and that in turn contributes to the sustainable development of the country. Teamwork and collaboration are values that the University of Cauca is cultivating to achieve its objectives, and the Director of the Center leads this project, motivating his collaborators to give the best of themselves. Undoubtedly, this work of continuous improvement will not only benefit the university, but also society in general by having an institution that is increasingly solid and committed to sustainable development.
