Unicauca graduates lead the execution of PDEAs in Cauca and Nariño
These are the agro-industrial engineers Edwin Muñoz and Yimy Calderón, who were selected for this purpose after a process in which prominent organizations at the national level participated.
The professionals in Agroindustrial Engineering Edwin Muñoz and Yimy Calderón, graduates of the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences of the University of Cauca, together with the Foundation of Professionals for Integral Community Development PRODESIC-EPSEA, were selected as the executors of the Departmental Plans of Agronomic Extension - PDEA, in the departments of Cauca and Nariño after completing a selection process in which more than five organizations from all over Colombia took part.
It should be noted that the aforementioned extension plans are promoted by the governorates of the aforementioned departments through their Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, hand in hand with the Rural Development Agency - ADR.
“These Institutions joined efforts to finance and execute the departmental agricultural extension plan, which seeks to guide agricultural activities within the framework of Law 1876 of 2017, implementing an agricultural extension in a more efficient, competitive and sustainable way to the different markets, through of the improvement in productivity levels, the reduction of production costs, as well as achieving marketing at fair prices in the different agricultural production units existing in the municipalities of Páez, Buenos Aires, Jambaló, Sotará, Rosas, La Sierra, La Vega , Almaguer, San Sebastián, Bolívar and Balboa ”, affirmed the engineer Yimy Calderón General Coordinator of the Departmental Agricultural Extension Plan - PDEA for the departments of Cauca and Nariño ADR - EPSEA PRODESIC.
He also highlighted that PDEA Cauca seeks to promote good agricultural and livestock practices, in prioritized production lines such as fruit and vegetable, livestock and fish farming; likewise, the agricultural producers of each municipality will have a periodic monitoring of the agricultural extension service, from different components such as: Technical, Environmental, Social-Participatory and ICTs.
