Unicauca supports Cauca’s Pact for Life, Human Rights and Peace
In an event that was held this morning by the Government of Cauca and which had the participation of representatives of different governmental, social, business and academic organizations, the Cauca’s Pact for Life, Human Rights and peace.

The University of Cauca, within the framework of the current institutional project committed to Territorial Peace, was linked to the initiative of the Government of Cauca to have a Cauca’s Pact for Life, Human Rights and Peace, a purpose in which it is articulate different sectors of society.
During the event, the Governor of Cauca, Elías Larrahondo Carabalí, stated that the pact represents a union in defense of life and peace, and for that purpose a message is sent from the Caucans to the country, to the National Government and to the international community, in the collective construction of peace and life.
He stated that this historic act responds to a sum of wills between the Government of Cauca, international, national, regional and local organizations in all their expressions, and is developed through social organizations, academia, unions, parliamentarians, sector productive, religious, unions, congressmen and other groups, who enthusiastically joined to work decisively in the defense of life in this region of the country.
During the transmission that was carried out on the MEET platform and on Facebook Live, the rector of the University of Cauca, José Luis Diago Franco indicated that the Alma Mater of the Caucans walks alongside the purpose of achieving territorial peace. "We make a call to stop violence, to respect the lives of leaders and social leaders," said the rector.
As part of the academic sector, the University of Cauca, the “Colegio Mayor del Cauca” University Institution, ESAP and the Institute of Intercultural Studies of the “Pontificia Universidad Javeriana” supported this agreement.
