University Citadel may be delivered in July 2021
With the new resources approved by the Superior Council in December, 81 percent advance the construction works of the University Citadel in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, headquarters that will benefit nearly 2,000 students who are studying undergraduate and graduate at the North Headquarters of the University of Cauca.
In the month of July 2021, the first stage of construction of the University Citadel in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao concludes, as announced by the Administrative Vice-Rector of the University of Cauca, Cielo Pérez Solano, complying with the schedule for carrying out this work infrastructure where the North Headquarters will operate.
“To date, we can say that we have significant progress that allows us to inform the community that we can meet the proposed goal by delivering the first stage, taking into account that, with the new resources allocated to completion, 81% are presented of execution, counting on the new resources approved by the Superior Council ”, indicated the Administrative Vice-Rector.
She added that finishing work and electrical part are being carried out in the two blocks made up of 48 classrooms, systems rooms, sanitary batteries, soccer field, parking lot and entrance, leaving a stage ready for operation. It is noteworthy that, in this headquarters, the University of Cauca has about 2 thousand students who study subjects in the programs of Law, Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Modern Languages English-French and Agroindustrial Engineering.
In the same way, the Administrative Vice-Rector reported that there is the corresponding furniture to install it in the two blocks and the resources destined to the closure of the University Citadel are managed.
“In the current administration we have outlined five strategic projects for the growth of the university, such as: University Citadel, University Residences, the Bicentennial Building and remodeling works at the University Sports Center. It is also good to indicate the completion of the Tics Building,”said the Administrative Vice-Rector.
The works in the University Citadel are being carried out in their first stage with resources from the University of Cauca, totaling $ 5,724,710,087; from the National Planning Department that allocated $ 2,200,000, and with the support of the Government of Cauca with $ 5,420,235,645, through the General Royalties System, for a total of $ 13,344,945,732 in this phase.
