A University of Cauca professor presents his work on education for peacebuilding in Germany
Professor John Jamer Quintero Tapia was invited to the 28th TAFISA World Congress 2023 to present the poster titled "Education for the construction of peace: pedagogical proposals from physical education and sports, in the context of the Department of Cauca, Colombia."
Professor John Jamer Quintero Tapia, affiliated with the Department of Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports at the University of Cauca, participated in the 28th TAFISA World Congress 2023 with the poster titled "Education for the construction of peace: pedagogical proposals from physical education and sports, in the context of the Department of Cauca, Colombia." The event took place from November 1 to 15, 2023, in Düsseldorf, Germany, under the theme "Sport for All: Stronger Together than Ever."
The presentation by the University of Cauca professor on November 2, 2023, at the Hilton Hotel in Düsseldorf, Germany, was part of the project under the Research Vice-Rectorate with ID 4699, "Education for peacebuilding: A pedagogical proposal from physical education and motor skills." After evaluation by two professors from Germany, who are members of the International Olympic Committee, it was selected as one of the 30 presentations featured in the 28th edition of this event organized by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), State Government of North Rhine-Westphalia, Regional Sports Confederation of North Rhine-Westphalia, and TAFISA.
"During the congress, the presentation reached various attendees from countries such as China, Germany, Zambia, Lebanon, Spain, and Egypt. Additionally, participation in working groups focused on challenges in Sport for All was achieved. Contacts were established with professors and graduate students from the German Sport University Cologne (Germany), as well as other stakeholders from Lebanon, Egypt, India, and Spain," stated the professor from the URDIMBRE Research Group (classified as Group C by Colciencias).
The poster presentation session featured approximately 30 projects selected by the International Sport for All Association TAFISA, which annually gathers projects from various regions around the world including Asia, Europe, America, Africa, and Oceania.
