The University of Cauca to Participate in the Grand Concert “Entretejido Sonoro: Colombian Musical Landscape” of the Presidential Program Sounds for Peacebuilding
Entretejido Sonoro will take place at the iconic Teatro Los Fundadores in Manizales on August 14. This concert will be an experience where the Colombian musical landscape will be showcased on a single stage. The event will feature over 300 recognized artists and musicians who will collaborate with musical groups in training from the most remote areas of the country.
This concert represents a cultural and artistic initiative of the Government of Change, led by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Knowledge and the Ministry of Education. It will bring together 8 public universities on the same stage: Universidad del Atlántico, Universidad de Antioquia, Universidad de Caldas, Universidad del Cauca, Universidad Nacional, Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC), Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (UPN), and Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), all of which have joined in the implementation of the presidential program across the 32 departments of the country.
The team from the Presidential Program Sounds for Peacebuilding, led in Zone 6 by the University of Cauca, will be present at this significant event, showcasing an unprecedented inter-institutional synergy in educational, cultural, and artistic management among the universities implementing this initiative across the country.
Entretejido Sonoro “ is a project that promotes social cohesion through music. It has this characteristic because it brings many people together around these concerts, making them reflect on the importance of weaving bonds of coexistence and emotional resonance that can help change the violent imaginaries we have had," explains Jorge Ignacio Zorro Sánchez, Deputy Minister of Arts, Cultural and Creative Economy, who directs the presidential program.
The concert will feature a selection of national artists and invited guests, including: symphonic bands from various parts of the country, Tambor Hembra, DJ Julián Cardona, John Alex del Castillo Cortes, Orquesta Sinfónica de Caldas, Coro Infantil del Eje, Ensamble del Putumayo, María Mulata, Laura Sofía Rosas and her group from Casanare, Ensamble Cruzao, Diana Pereira “La Profe,” Ensamble de Percusión No Convencional “Perkutos,” and maestro Antonio Arnedo. This lineup will strengthen social bonds through the sounds, rhythms, melodies, and cultural expressions that will be showcased at Teatro Los Fundadores.
