Universidad Cauca obtains outstanding compliance in the execution of the Institutional Development Plan 2018-2022
Among the results that emerge from the monitoring of the Institutional Development Plan of the University of Cauca called "Towards a University committed to Territorial Peace" for the period 2018-2022, the fulfillment of 87.73% in execution stands out in a special way. ; balance sheet with which the closing balance sheet of the predecessor project is formally delivered.
Despite the difficult context that implied carrying out a management in the midst of two national strikes, the COVID-19 pandemic and the social outbreak, the University of Cauca achieved high compliance with the five strategic axes that constituted the document Towards a committed University with Territorial Peace”, Institutional Development Plan 2018-2022. "We achieved a total progress by axis and projects of 87.73%, which represents an outstanding execution according to the ranking used by the National Planning Department," said Diana Melissa Muriel, Head of the Office of Planning and Institutional Development. In this sense, it is vital to highlight that the Strengthening of Quality Management axis achieved greater progress with a total of 97.57%, reflected in the Institutional Reaccreditation granted for a period of eight more years.
Monitoring the Institutional Development Plan 2018-2022 allowed, through reports and early alerts, informed and timely decision-making by the Management Team, highlighting, for example, the execution of the PERMANESER project, through which the indices dropout rates of undergraduate students from our Alma Mater have remained below the national average. Likewise, at the level of the research system, the balance is closed with 88 ranked groups in Colciencias, twelve patents and, in general, with the increase in recognized research groups. In the same way, we provide the entire university community and the citizens of the region with new and renovated sports venues with high quality standards and ideal specifications for competitive sports, among other relevant aspects for the improvement of university well-being.
It is important to mention that within the Institutional Development Plan 2018-2022, the rector, Dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, was an active and very important part of the Management Team, as Vice-rector for Culture and University Well-being; vice rectory directly related to the strategic axis of Integral Education with Culture and Well-being, which obtained a total progress of 93.72%, thus, from the Vice-rectory of Culture and University Well-being, Dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, assumed the rectory of the University assuming the work of closing the predecessor Development Plan during the year 2022, and starting its rectoral plan in 2023.
In this regard, we extend the invitation to the university community and, in general, to all those interested so that they may know first-hand all the information regarding the management of public resources of our institution on Friday, May 12, from 10:00 a.m. 00 am in the Auditorium Francisco José de Caldas, within the framework of the development of the Public Hearing of Accountability for the Validity of 2022.
Without a doubt, the information that we publicly share today is evidence of the efficiency and commitment of the different university departments, led by the Management Team, who have worked together to provide the entire university community with a Institution of Higher Education committed to Territorial Peace, and which has before it the arduous mission of continuing in the work of maintaining and exceeding those percentages of execution for the Institutional Development Plan for the present term.
“The key is in the follow-up. For this Development Plan we plan to follow up on a four-month basis and, there we can make an evaluation of how we are going in the execution and where we have to put the accelerator to be able to achieve the goals", said the rector, Dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera , who has made the commitment to deliver a Bicentennial University of Excellence and Solidarity to the entire region at the end of his administration.
