"The functional prototype of the" Intelligent Alcohol Dispenser "is based on the Arduino platform that, by means of a proximity sensor, detects when a person passes his right hand over the sensor, that is, that without the need for contact he is able to deliver the perfect dose of alcohol, with which you can decrease the transmission of the virus ”, explain María Alejandra Gutiérrez and Juan José Rosero, students of the last semester of Industrial Automation Engineering at the Universidad del Cauca.

The students developed a prototype 3D dispenser that meets the stated purpose, quality and resistance, and thus, it is evaluated: cost, durability, useful life, efficiency in its operation, to finally market it to the general public.

"The measures that the national government has been implementing as a consequence of the declaration of a sanitary, economic, social and ecological emergency caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, create challenges for society to modify behaviors and preserve human health and life "Say the two students.

For this reason and to try to mitigate the effects of this crisis in some way, the need arises and the initiative to devise from knowledge a resource that helps to find answers to some of the challenges posed by the rapid spread of the virus and how to stop it. .
