Unicauca's musical work Performed at an Italian event
At the Di Spoleto Festival, held in Italy from June 30 to July 16 of this year, the renowned Colombian cellist, Santiago Cañón, interpreted the corredor 'Corcheitas', composed by Carlos René Ordóñez Mora, teacher and Department of Music of the University of Cauca head.
This work, a faithful reflection and projection of the beautiful music of the Colombian South, according to Professor Ordoñez Mora, originated while studying for his degree work named 'Compositions and musical versions Crossing Nariño' to obtain his Bachelor's degree in music at the University of Cauca back in 1999.
It is a traditional Colombian piece, designed to be performed in piano accompanied by “triple,” which also has a special version for cello and piano."After doing part of my degree work it became part of a compilation made by a musician cousin also in a master's work of the University of Antioquia, and who was the one who began to spread this work," said the teacher.
'Corcheitas' after arriving at the archives of a national festival that takes place in Cartagena de Indias was sent along with other national works to the renowned cellist Santiago Cañón, who performed it in Italy, during the Festival Di Spoleto, to great satisfaction of the author of the University of Cauca, and of La Cruz (Nariño), where professor Ordóñez Mora is from.
As the teacher describes it, the “corredor” "is a very stingy work, although it has no lyrics, with the melody it tries to make a game, a set of fast routes, and then insinuating an ending it does not end."
