About the Event
The sixth edition of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, held under the theme “Dialogue for Peace and Global Security: Cooperation and Interconnectivity,” took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. This forum is part of the “Baku Process,” which was initiated by President Ilham Aliyev in 2008. The event was organized in collaboration with prominent international entities such as the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), UNESCO, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
The main objective of the VI World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue was to explore the critical intersections between facilitating dialogue, cooperative frameworks, effective leadership, and the complex dynamics of interconnectivity, all aimed at promoting global peace and security. Over the course of three days, a series of plenary sessions and discussion panels brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, representatives from international organizations, prominent cultural figures, journalists, civil society actors, and intellectuals from around the world, to deliberate on pressing global challenges.
