Unicaucan Faculty Present Their Reflections on Interculturality and Territories at the V International Congress of ABYA YALA
Diana Alejandra Soto Ossa and Gerardo Eliud López Vargas, along with academics from eleven countries, presented their reflections on intercultural processes in the territories during the event held from May 22 to 24 at the Universidad del Magdalena.
With presentations on interculturality in land and territory and biocultural territories, the Universidad del Cauca professors Diana Alejandra Soto Ossa and Gerardo Eliud López Vargas participated in the V International Congress 'Intercultural Processes in the Territories of ABYA YALA,' an event organized from May 22 to 24 by the Latin American Society of Intercultural Studies and the Doctorate in Education, Interculturality, and Territories at the Universidad del Magdalena.
During the academic session, Professor Diana Alejandra Soto Ossa from the Department of Philosophy presented the paper 'Epistemología Puracé y la Filosofía de la Tranquilidad' in the thematic axis of intersectionality and interculturality in land and territory: epistemology and other resistance methodologies.

Meanwhile, Professor Gerardo Eliud López Vargas, a PhD candidate in Ethnobiology and Biocultural Studies, presented two papers: 'Understanding a Biocultural Territory from Analogical Hermeneutics' in the thematic axis of Knowledge Dialogue: between Eurocentric (Western) Science and Indigenous Science, and 'From Understanding a Biocultural Territory to Biocultural Policy' in the thematic axis of Intersectionality and Interculturality in Land and Territory: Epistemology and Other Resistance Methodologies.
In this context, the professors from Universidad del Cauca formally requested their affiliation with the Latin American Society of Intercultural Studies.

It is important to highlight that the event featured experts on related topics from eleven countries and over twenty departments in Colombia, who interacted with academics such as Catherine Walsh from Ecuador, María Teresa Munguía from Mexico, and indigenous authorities from the Kankuamos, Wiwas, Kogui, Arhuacos, and Raizales peoples.
