Unicauca will participate in the II Meeting of the Global Network for Food Sustainability

 

Representatives from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Switzerland will participate in the event, seeking to contribute to the construction of continuous training programs at the technical, undergraduate, postgraduate level and trans-disciplinary and interactive research in systems sustainable food for Latin America and the Caribbean.

In order to know the current situation of the agro-industrial food systems and the socioeconomic, environmental and legal effects of trans-genics, agrochemicals and other emerging biotechnologies, between August 24 and 28, 2020, the II Meeting of the Global Network for Food Sustainability and Knowledge Dialogue for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

In this international event, representatives from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Switzerland will participate in a virtual way, countries that seek to contribute to the construction of continuous training programs at the technical, undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels trans-disciplinary and interactive in sustainable food systems for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

It is important to indicate that the University of Cauca is part of the Global Network as Node Colombia, through the Latin American Ethno-botanists Group GELA - Colombia and the Doctorate in Ethno-biology and Bio-cultural Studies assigned to the Faculty of Natural, Exact and Education Sciences.

 

The contest is aimed at university students and teachers, decision makers, social organizations and civil citizens of Latin America and the Caribbean; it is to influence public policies, programs and projects of local and national governments and international cooperation through a declaration that provides guidelines for a common agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean.
