At Unicauca we promote the culture of entrepreneurship
Within the framework of the calls for "Promotion of entrepreneurship in the members of research groups and seedbeds of the University of Cauca" of the Office of Research and the "Call for student entrepreneurship" of the Office of Culture and Well-being, last Tuesday, May 9, in the Gregorio Caicedo auditorium of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the diploma “Business Model Structuring; The Mind behind Entrepreneurship”.
This diploma course, certified by the University of Cauca, is guided by professors from our Department of Administrative Sciences and will train 36 entrepreneurships from the university community, registered and shortlisted through the aforementioned calls, in administrative skills. It is important to mention that the diploma is possible thanks to the collaborative and articulated work between the Division of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Articulation with the Environment DAE of the Vice-Rector for Research; the Vice-Rector for Culture and Well-being, CECAV, the Department of Administrative Sciences of the Faculty of Accounting, Economic and Administrative Sciences and SENA, in a joint effort to promote the culture of entrepreneurship within the Alma Mater Caucana.
Thus, this initiative is clearly articulated with the current Development Plan "For a University of Excellence and Solidarity", which proposes education as a generator of potential, hence we are working to overcome the notion of graduating from the university at looking for a job, by going out to create jobs, through productivity, innovation, entrepreneurship, development or social projection. In this sense, on May 12, within the framework of the "VRI Call No. 005 of 2023 Promotion of entrepreneurship in the members of research groups and seedbeds of the University of Cauca" also took place the selection pitch of the postulated ventures, who will work tirelessly to promote the development of new ideas and projects.
During a few weeks, the participants will have the opportunity to attend conferences and workshops focused on the development of business skills, leadership, finance, marketing and business strategy. In addition, they will have the advice of experts in the corresponding field to enhance their business growth curve. We are sure that this initiative will be of great help to all those who have a business idea or have already started their own venture since, with the support of the community and the collaboration of all sectors, this will be a space full of possibilities. for the development of new opportunities and highly rewarding entrepreneurial experiences.
From the Division of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Articulation with the Environment of the Vice-Rector for Investigations, a special and public thanks to César Peláez from RECON; Marta Vivas of Mercy Corp; Carlos Alberto Ortegón from Emprendimiento SENA and Paulo Andrés López, Cultural Manager, who joined us as judges during the Pitch event.
And since good news is a source of inspiration, we hope to continue sharing further progress and learning about the path that our new entrepreneurs are following in the near future; a path that has full support and university accompaniment, since we cannot lose sight of the fact that our people are the most valuable heritage of our University.
