Unicauca teacher to preside symposium in Brazil on machine learning for communications

Oscar Mauricio Caicedo Rendón, professor at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, was selected to be the Symposium Chair in IEEE GLOBECOM 2022. The professor is associate technical editor of IEEE Communications Magazine and participates as a member of the technical committee of IEEE NetSoft 2021.

 

Professor Oscar Mauricio Caicedo Rendón of the Telematic Engineering Group, attached to the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications of the University of Cauca has been selected to be Symposium Chair in IEEE GLOBECOM 2022 that will take place from December 4 to 8, 2022 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

Dr. Caicedo becomes one of the first Colombian professors who receive the responsibility of leading one of GLOBECOM's technical symposia; In particular, the role will be played at the Machine Learning for Communications symposium.

 

GLOBECOM is one of the two flagship conferences of the IEEE Communications Society dedicated to driving innovation in nearly all aspects of communications networks, it has an H5-median index = 79.

 

Within the framework of the conference program, thousands of participants come together to present research results, share visions and ideas, get updates on the latest technologies and expand their social and professional networks; The program includes whitepapers, tutorials, workshops and industry sessions specifically designed to advance technologies, systems and infrastructure that continue to reshape the world and provide access to all users to an unprecedented spectrum of high-speed, seamless global telecommunications and profitable services.

 

It is noted that during this year Professor Caicedo will continue to be associate technical editor of IEEE Communications Magazine, the most important magazine of the IEEE, with an Impact factor equal to 11.05, and will participate as a member of the technical committee of IEEE NetSoft 2021 (index H5- median = 39) which is one of the most important conferences in the area of ​​software-based networking.
