Unicauca teacher organizes event on software reuse in Canada
Professor Julio Ariel Hurtado of the University of Cauca together with Jaime Chavarriaga of the Universidad de Los Andes organize the Third workshop on experiences and empirical studies on the reuse of WEESR 2020 software, an event that will take place in October in Montreal.
Julio Ariel Hurtado, member of the IDIS group Research and Development in Software Engineering and professor in the Department of Systems at the University of Cauca, will be the co-organizer of the Third workshop on experiences and empirical studies on the reuse of WEESR 2020 software, which will take place at held from October 19 to 23 in Montreal (Canada), within the framework of the International Conference on Software Product Lines (SPLC 2020).
“WEESR 2020 aims to be a space where researchers and professionals can present their experiences and studies in the area of software reuse, discuss the challenges that must be overcome in non-academic settings and obtain comments on how empirical research can be carried out and improved. ”, Says the Teacher and Researcher of the Faculty of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering.
Software reuse has been recognized as a key strategy to improve productivity and quality. For example, for many years, technologies such as components, object-orientation, and function-oriented programming have been proposed to promote reuse and achieve these benefits.
It should be noted that Professor Julio Ariel Hurtado has been the co-organizer of this event since 2018 when it was held in Bogotá (Colombia), 2019 in Paris (France) and for this year in Canada.
