Unicauca Solidaria delivers aid

448 students and 41 vendors from the University of Cauca were the first beneficiaries of the Unicauca “Solidaria” campaign, which was carried out thanks to the voluntary contribution of teachers and administrators to bring support to those who currently require it.
 
With the delivery of grants to students and vendors this week, the first call for the Unicauca “Solidaria” campaign ended, with teachers and administrators contributing from one day to four days of their salary to this social initiative.
 
The first call had a positive response from the members of the university community, who voluntarily contributed to help students from other regions who for various reasons stayed in the city of Popayán, as well as vendors located inland or around university campuses.
 
"We have nothing but words of thanks and blessing to the university community that supports us in this difficult economic situation due to the Pandemic, that help will serve us and our families a lot right now," said the beneficiaries through of audio and text messages.
 
The first call for Unicauca “Solidaria” presented the following balance:
 
Linking 336 officials between teachers and administrators
 
 
Donation of one day's salary: 250
 
Donation of two days' salary: 55
 
Donation of three days salary: 17
 
Donation of four days' salary: 14
 
ASPU Donation: $ 500,000
 
 
Total collected: $ 80,572,986
 
Aid delivery to students and vendors was made on June 1 through PLAY
 
 
448 students received a grant of $ 150,000 each. Total: $ 68,069,700
 
41 vendors received a grant of $ 300,000 each. Total: $ 12,302,050
 
 
Total Delivered: $ 80,371,750
 
To date there is a balance of $ 201,236, resources that will be added to that collected in the second call.
